Privacy policy

Draft — pending legal review. Whether federal PIPEDA or BC’s PIPA (or both) applies to this business, and the exact cross-border data-residency terms of our third-party providers, have not yet been confirmed by a lawyer.

Who we are

This site is operated by Sherwood Seabrook Media Technologies LTD, doing business as Westgrove Media. For any privacy question, or to access, correct, or delete your information, contact privacy@westgrovemedia.com.

What we collect

  • If you subscribe to our email list: your email address, stored encrypted, along with a record that you consented and when.
  • If you submit a project for review: your name, email address, and the project details you provide (title, format, genre, synopsis, a private review link, and an optional password), stored encrypted where sensitive.
  • If you like or share a title: an anonymous, randomly-generated identifier stored in a cookie on your device. We never collect or store a device fingerprint, and this identifier cannot be linked back to your email or name.
  • Automatically, from any visit: standard web server logs (IP address, page requested, browser type), used only for security and troubleshooting, and automatically deleted after 14 days.

We do not use any analytics or advertising tracking on this site.

Cookies

We use one cookie to remember your like/share activity, and (for site administration only) one login-session cookie. Neither is used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Third parties we use

  • Mux — hosts and streams our video content.
  • Cloudflare (R2) — stores our images and caption files.
  • Ko-fi — powers the optional donation widget on our Support page. Ko-fi may set its own cookies and load its own scripts when that page is open.

These providers may process data outside Canada as part of their standard infrastructure.

Email delivery

We do not currently have an active email-sending provider connected. If you subscribe, your address is recorded, but no email is sent at this time.

How long we keep information

  • Subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them — we do not currently delete unconfirmed signups automatically.
  • Creator submissions are kept for 12 months from submission, then automatically deleted.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience. Individual titles carry their own content advisories. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@westgrovemedia.com.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.

Changes

We’ll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes.
